Synopsis

Le Dernier Appel (The Last Call) is a new multi-lingual trans-Indigenous dance theatre work by Marrugeku. The 2017 creative development will take place on Lifou, in the Loyalty Islands home of Wetr, New Caledonia’s lead traditional dance troupe and in Nouméa hosted by Centre Tjibaou, prior to final rehearsals at Carriageworks in 2018. As New Caledonia work towards a referendum on independence from France in 2018, Le Dernier Appel explores issues of decolonisation in both Australia and New Caledonia.
